Dress Code
Dress Code and Etiquette
Presentable casual clothing is to be worn on the Course and in the Bar/Restaurant and Clubhouse Area at all times.
Why is there a dress code?
Enniscorthy Golf Club has a long tradition of values that have come down through the decades from those early founders in 1907. This tradition incorporates respect for the course and fellow players, visitors and the family and the promotion of golf as a pleasurable activity and social outlet in the community. Part of this tradition is the upholding of a dress code for the course and clubhouse. We live in a time of great freedom of expression, tattoos, jewellery (bling) and clothing. Marketing companies have not overlooked this fact and spend millions promoting their wears with their logo or brand crest for the fashion conscience golfer. Yet, some of these fashions maybe contrary to what is acceptable on our club grounds because they break with tradition; a tradition which does not offend or promote blatant advertising or personal expression.
To maintain standards for all levels of users we suggest the following dress code in order that no one is offended and the clubhouse is a place to relax in the company of friends, fellow golfers and family.
There is a special dress code for players representing their club in inter-club tournaments. The Team Manager(s) will give guidance on the appropriate uniform that is acceptable if a player is in any doubt.
The following is not acceptable in the bar
- Football / Rugby style shirts.
- Worn denim shirts.
- Collarless, sleeveless shirts or T-shirts. Branded Collarless Golf apparel is acceptable.
- Tracksuit tops or bottoms.
- Football shorts or beach shorts. Tailored shorts will be permitted.
- Tye-dyed, cut or torn, and ragged end denim trousers. Clean and presentable denim trousers will be accepted.
- Hats must be removed in the bar unless there is a special or medical reason.
